My opinion

I can see two possible outcomes of this whole mess, either we stop the ethnic killing or we face a 3rd world war, and I would really hate to see the latter come true. This situation is similar to the one we faces at the start of WWII. Hitlar was ethnically clencing the world and we didn't want to get involved, however we got sucked into the whole mess but came out on top. I think that we should do everything possible to avoid a 3rd world war, however if the conflict escalates, I know we will be ready. A stealth fighter crashed on Saturday and the pilot escaped with no major injuries, however this could be a major security risk as a stealth fighter has never been lost in combat before and none of our enimies have had a chance to examine one. Nato launched its fifth day of airstrikes on Sunday with much more intencity. Nato still has no intention of sending ground forces. They will continue their air campaign as long as neccesary. So far and an est. 250,000 ethnic Albanians have fled Kosovo. China and Russia are angry about the whole thing. They are making noice back home along with thousands of protesters that dissaprove of our actions. I guess they feel that we should mind our own bussiness and let Yugoslavia fight it's war. That is what we did at the start of WWII and look what it did to us. I am against the idea of a war partially because many of my friends and I might be involved. However, it's our morals that tell us that it isn't right to stand for these killings. We value human life much more that thos Serbs do. Maybe we should't get involved. Who is to say what is right. Our morals are based upon the lives that we have lived and the things that we have experienced. Who are we to say that they are wrong? Morality is the price we pay for civilization, and everyones morals are different.

In the past couple of days, there have been many important events happening in Kosovo. We are about to enter our forteenth day of airstrikes today, and the campain is more spread out across the country of Yugoslavia. The US fears that the stealth fighter that crashed will end up in Russian hands and that some of our technilogical secrets are at stake. However, stealth technology was around since the 70's, the government just didn't tell us about it. Thousands upon thousands of ethnic Albanian refugies are trying to flee towards more peaceful lands with little success. Many nations pitch in to aid the refugies. United States and its allies announced they will airlift at least 100,000 ethnic Albanians to temporary shelters.

NATO warplanes unleashed their heaviest night of bombing on Sunday since the air war started March 24. An estimated 40,000 refugies left Kosovo for neiboring territory over the weekend. The flow of refugies out of Kosovo and into neiboring lands it very slow. These people really don't have anywhere to go. President Melosevic know's he's losing however he doesn't want to change his policies. Europe should be afraid of a chain reaction from the conflict. Other nations could easily be drawn into the war over ethnic disputes and intrusions. Despite Yugoslav calls for a halt in the airstrikes to mark the Orthadox Easter, Nato continued its assult on Kosovo as to not show any signs of weakness. And now the Air National Guard is expected to be called in to fly the 300 additional planes that are to be called in. We need to be vary careful as to how we handle this conflict as we do not want to set off any chain reactions or cause a World War.
